Kasi First Aiders School Sickroom Project

The project empowered learners and staff to act as first responders during emergencies. Key activities included conducting comprehensive training sessions on topics like CPR, wound care, and fire prevention. Five fully 2 functional sickrooms were equipped with essential medical supplies such as BP monitors and oxygen cylinders. Over 625 individuals (staff and students) were directly trained, significantly exceeding the initial target of 25 direct beneficiaries. The project also impacted a wider school community of approximately 4,500 indirect beneficiaries. 25 schools received specialised training and 5 pilot sick rooms were established. It successfully established strong partnerships with local health services and the Department of Education to ensure ongoing support. Future goals for the initiative include the development of a digital learning platform, the introduction of advanced training modules, and the expansion of operational sickrooms to all remaining schools in the region
