This initiative established a substantial chicken farming operation in Olievenhoutbosch to provide sustenance and food security for the community, while generating income for King’s Hope Development Foundation.

The project involved rehabilitating chicken coops and procuring equipment to raise broiler chickens. Beneficiaries, primarily unemployed women from the support group, received hands-on training in poultry management and financial literacy. The chickens continue to be sold to local street vendors and community members, with proceeds used to feed residents at the Foundation’s shelter and support organisational sustainability. This project involved 50 direct beneficiaries (40 females and 10 males). An additional 12 children in the organisation’s shelter and various support group families also benefited indirectly through food provision.
