Preparing Township Youth for the World of Work

The project facilitated a structured six-month skills development programme for youth in Katlehong. It incorporate practical work experience in underserved schools. This included hard and soft skills training through masterclasses and coaching, and active vocational guidance to fast-track participants into entry-level employment or further education. 50 direct youth beneficiaries (increased to nearly 70 by project end) and 16,912 Grade 1–4 learners were reached by the project.The project leveraged strong partnerships with organisations such as Yes4Youth, which funded intern stipends, and Deloitte, which provided expert career readiness training. By the end of the programme, at least 10% of the cohort was successfully placed in full-time work or learnerships.
