Afterschool Programme

This comprehensive initiative integrated structured sports leagues with after-school tutoring in core subjects such as Mathematics and English. The programme further provided specialised workshops on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) prevention, child safeguarding, and career guidance in partnership with local universities to ensure participants are equipped with critical life skills. The project reached more than 1100 active beneficiaries, including over 1,080 youths, reached through sports leagues and more than 50 learners receiving consistent tutorial support. Additional beneficiaries included 70 grade 9-12 girls, 50 grade 4-8 learners, 120 team captains, 25 coaches and over 35 parents/guardians. The project thrived through additional partnerships with the University of Johannesburg (UJ) for tutoring and career guidance, Laureus Sport for Good for coach training, and PEP for essential school uniform and shoe donations. Celebrating significant success, the organisation was recognised as the “Sports Organisation of the Year Runner-up” in 2021 and has successfully facilitated a number of tertiary scholarships for its participants, demonstrating a measurable impact on long-term community and youth development.
