The programme features a “Power Hour” for daily facilitated homework, a feeding scheme ensuring nutritional support, and weekly sessions for sports and technology, such as coding. Its core objectives are to increase school attendance, improve exam results, and enhance the general well-being and self-worth of participating youth. The project is located in Senaoane, Johannesburg, and has been supported by an additional R80,000 contribution from BGCSA’s own resources for operational support. The initiative has successfully fostered strong partnerships with the School Governing Body (SGB), teachers, and parents, creating a vibrant and successful after-school community.
