A nationwide initiative mobilising a volunteer network of “KnitWits” to create blankets for the less fortunate, fostering national unity and active citizenship.

LIFSA funding was utilised to purchase essential wool and knitting supplies for 18,000 volunteers. These volunteers participated in “knitathons” to produce high-quality blankets, addressing the critical need for warmth in shelters and impoverished communities. The project faces a constant daily demand for wool; LIFSA’s support ensured that the volunteer network remains active and capable of responding to the needs of the vulnerable.
